A number of staff scientists of the Museum of Local Lore took part in a reporting conference on the results of research work in 2011, which was held on February 24 in the conference hall of National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
Head of the museum Irina Vodneva told about the results of the analysis of commemorative books 1861-1914, about the useful information for museum staffs, which they contain. She read her notice "The memorial books of the Vitebsk province" as a source on the history of Polotsk".
A notice "Album of the devastation in the town of Polotsk ..." from the State Archive of the Russian Federation" by Slavina Gavrilova was devoted to the unique photo document - the "Album of the devastation in the town of Polotsk, produced by the Nazi invaders during the period of temporary occupation in July 1941 to July 1944", which contains some of the earliest post-war photos of Polotsk and stored in the State Archive.
The report "The activities of the subdivision of national minorities with regard to the Jewish population of Polotsk (1919-1921)" by Nastassia Nemchinskaya were considered the features of solution to the national question in Polotsk in the early days of the Soviet State.
