In museums in Europe and the United States, the idea of creating new museum projects is proposed by the local community. This is how the staff of the Local Lore Museum came up with the idea of creating a creative project "Where are your roots", dedicated to the history of the Genov family. When preparing the project, which was implemented in the International Action "Night of Museums-2021", at the initiative of Vladimir Nikolaevich Genov, representatives of the genus were searched both in Belarus and in Russia, Germany, the USA, and Israel. The information about more than 100 members of the clan, collected by the great-grandson of Khaya and Khatskel, was systematically formalized by the museum staff and presented at the exhibition "The Warmth of the Family Hearth". At the exhibition one could also get acquainted with the life of the Polotsk people in the 1950-1970s, the hobbies and family traditions of the Genovs. Of particular interest were the authentic photographs from the family archive, which formed the basis for the creation of the temporary exhibition. In addition to the main exhibition, visitors could get acquainted with a photo exhibition with materials from the personal archive of Nikolai Genov - the honored trainer of Belarus, a documentary film about his activities. In the family circle, the Genovs demonstrated their talents in a small concert for guests and family members.
