A personal exhibition of two famous artists Valery Slavuk and Georgy Scripnichenko was opened at the Art gallery of Polotsk National Historical and Culrural Museum-Reserve.
V. Slavuk is called “Belorussian duerer”, because his creativity is fantastic and his imagination is rich and inexhaustible. His works can help with studying of the Belorussian fairy tales. Images of Valery Slavuk are funny, scary, kind, evil, thin, big, hairy, clumsy, toothy - various. Every detail is very important.
G. Scripnichenko is an important figure in Belorussian art. Very often people call him “our Salvador Dali” and “the master of riddles”. His works are decorative and openly scandalous.Terrible and beautiful, frightening and kind, sublime and tragic things coexist on his works. His works are perceived as a modern videoversion of the Belorussian magic fairy-tales, where a devil and an angel switch the roles from time to time. A graphic code which is used by an artist allows him to be simultaneously everywhere and at all times, staying in his workshop.
This exhibition runs until January 10, 2015.
